Charlotte County, FL
Charlotte Harbor
Overview
Charlotte Harbor is an unincorporated community on the north side of the Peace River, just across the US 41 bridge from downtown Punta Gorda. It is one of the older settlements in the county, with roots as an early fishing and rail community, and it still has direct frontage on the harbor waters it's named for.
The housing stock reflects that history: older Florida homes and modest mid-century houses sit near newer waterfront construction, and the community has seen renewed investment in recent years, including the large Sunseeker Resort development on the harbor. That mix gives buyers a range of entry points, from a smaller fixer-upper to new waterfront construction.
Legacy Real Estate Associates is based in Bradenton and represents buyers and sellers throughout Charlotte Harbor. Because the community is small and its character changes block by block, we spend time with clients on the ground here rather than relying on general descriptions of the area.
Location
Charlotte Harbor sits on the north side of the Peace River and Charlotte Harbor estuary, connected to downtown Punta Gorda by the US 41 bridge. Bayshore Road runs through the community along the water, and Port Charlotte and Harbour Heights border it to the north.
